Some friendships are built on proximity. Ours started in kindergarten and never stopped.

Overpacked Carry-On was built from years of helping people plan trips, long before it was ever a business. At some point, it just made sense to make it official.

Hi, I'm Lacey

Planning trips in places like this is kind of my thing.
Planning trips in places like this is kind of my thing.

I’m the founder of Overpacked Carry-On and a travel advisor who has always been the go-to person for planning trips.

What started as helping friends and family figure out where to stay, what to do, and how to make a trip actually work turned into something much bigger.

Our Story

We grew up side by side, always drawn to the same things. We both love to travel, try new restaurants, experience different cultures, and find things to do that go beyond the obvious.

Planning has always come naturally to both of us. We’re the ones researching, organizing, and figuring out how to make everything come together in a way that actually works.

I spent years working as a project manager, which means I naturally think in timelines, logistics, and contingency plans.

I travel for the views, the food, the activities, and the experience of it all, and I’m always paying attention to what’s actually worth it.

Roushelle has traveled extensively across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East and brings a strong global perspective, especially when it comes to more complex, multi-destination trips.

How This Started

We were always the people everyone called when they needed help planning a trip.

Where should we stay?

What’s actually worth doing?

How do we fit everything in without feeling rushed?

What’s not worth the time or money?

Trip after trip, I found myself answering the same questions, sharing recommendations, and helping people put everything together in a way that actually worked.

At some point, I realized this was something I was already doing all the time, and it made sense to turn it into something more.

What Overpacked Carry-On Is

Overpacked Carry-On is both a travel blog and a trip planning resource.

On the blog side, you’ll find destination guides, honest reviews, and recommendations based on what I’ve personally experienced, what’s been vetted, and what I would actually suggest to someone planning a trip.

On the planning side, when you're ready for support, we help turn your ideas into a trip that actually fits your life.

Who This Is For

This space is for you if you love to travel but want help making it all come together.

You want more than just a list of things to do.

You want a trip that feels intentional, well-paced, and worth it.

Let's Plan Something Worth It
